Our microwave and optics labs had two big upgrades!
Optical dilution fridge:
Our third dilution fridge is online. Hanbin designed this beautiful setup with free-space optical access and widefield imaging capabilities:
Home-built vector magnet, 6-axis piezo positioners for cryogenic photonic probing. And the base temperature is still ~25 mK!
E-beam evaporator for Josephson junction fabrication:
This tool is allowing us to more rapidly explore new Josephson junction recipes and processes for novel superconducting devices.
The preparation for each of these installations took a ton of work. Thanks to the entire team for their hard work over many months! Special thanks to Zihuai, Nicco, Leo, Kerry, and Hanbin who did most of the heavy lifting to successfully bring the systems up.
